Last weekend, Columbiyum traveled all the way out to Brighton Beach to temporarily forget the midterm dread! Our destination was Little Georgia π¬πͺ, a small Georgian restaurant specializing in Khachapuri. π€© Although this dish might look like pizza, it contains only dough, olive oil, and, most importantly, the salty imeruli and sulguni cheese. This is Megruli Khachapuri from Samegrelo, one of four varieties of Khachapuri served here.
Although you can find it at restaurants nearby, nothing comes close to the work of the ααααααα/bebiebi (grandmas) of Little Georgia. After you get your fresh Khachapuri for a reasonable $12, we also suggest walking along the Brighton Beach boardwalk and enjoying the ocean breeze! And one more tip before you leave β stop by Tashkent Supermarket or Samarkand Bazaar for some great groceries and Uzbek food. πΊπΏ
Directions: Take the downtown 1 to 96th and switch to the 2 or 3. Transfer to the S towards Prospect Park at Franklin Av, then transfer to the Q headed to Coney Island. Exit at Brighton Beach and Little Georgia is on Brighton 6th St.
